Day 3 of the EuroHockey U18 Championships in Lille brought together top-tier continental talent, fierce rivalries, and plenty of goals. Four high-stakes matches were played – two boys’ and two girls’ fixtures – showcasing the best young athletes in Europe as the race to the semi-finals intensified.
Girls – Pool A
Netherlands 8–0 Italy
The Dutch girls delivered a dominant performance to remain unbeaten in Pool A. Ellemeike Visser and Phileine van den Bosch marshalled a relentless attack, with goals coming in all four quarters. Italy were overwhelmed by the precision of the Netherlands, who racked up eight unanswered goals, including a penalty stroke and two from Lotte Ruts.
Germany 4–0 England
Germany maintained their perfect start with a clinical win over England. Janne Dreyer opened the scoring early, and three late goals—including a penalty stroke from Franziska Zich—sealed the deal. England battled hard defensively but couldn’t break the disciplined German backline.
Boys – Pool A
England 4–1 Czechia
After falling behind to an early Czech goal from Štěpán Míka, England responded in style. Moritz Hippe and Olly Bennett helped swing momentum before Thomas Mead and Oliver Horsler added insurance in the second half. England’s structured counterattack and clinical finishing proved too much for Czechia.
Spain 0–0 Germany
A tense and tactical battle ended in a goalless draw. Both sides had their chances but lacked the final touch to break the deadlock. Goalkeepers Mario Valles and Luis Geisler were in top form, pulling off key saves. The result leaves Pool A finely poised heading into the final group matches.
