EuroHockey Competitions Committee Outdoor meeting

Last weekend, the EuroHockey Competitions Committee Outdoor met in Vienna, Austria, for its second meeting of the year.

Thank you to the Austrian Federation for hosting the meeting.

The Committee reviewed the Euro Hockey League, EuroHockey club events 2025, EuroHockey U18 Championships 2025, and EuroHockey Championships 2025. It was noted that all events went well. The teams that won the various events were congratulated, and all hosts were again thanked for their tremendous work. The Committee also wanted to state how grateful they are for the hard work and dedication of all the volunteer Officials and Umpires, without whom the events couldn’t be held.

Moreover, updates were received on the EuroHockey U16 Hockey 5s Championships 2026 in Türkiye and Georgia, the EuroHockey Senior Hockey 5s Championships 2026 in Poland, and the EuroHockey U21 Championships 2026 in Spain, Austria, France, Czechia, and Poland.

The Committee considered the entries and applications to host the 2026 EuroHockey Club Championships. The hosts have been informed, and the venue and pools were announced.

The Committee considered the entries and applications to host the 2026 EuroHockey Championship Qualifiers. Recommendations for the awarding of these Championship Qualifiers were made to the EuroHockey executive board. These will be announced in due course as soon as the board has approved them.

They received updates on FIH events and discussed some (regulations) questions. Any changes (if needed) will be published in due course  in the various sets of Regulations and Event Manuals.

The next committee meeting will be in March 2026, with the new Committee as the current 2-year cycle finishes at the end of 2025.
